Playing the game

The aim of the game is simple, you have to predict where you think the ball will come to rest after spinning round the roulette wheel. There are 37 pockets on this wheel; a zero and numbers 1 to 36. There are different returns offered for the various bets on offer – so the riskier the bet (least probable outcome), the higher the return will be. A straight up bet offers a 35 to 1 return as it is the least likely to come out. Bets that are considered to be ‘safe’ offer a low percentage as these are more than likely to come out; by choosing a safe bet of red or black will offer a percentage of 1 to 1.

What makes this game different?

If you were to compare European Roulette Gold Series to a standard European Roulette game, the difference would be the design, layout and the inclusion of certain bets. European Roulette Gold Series from Microgaming allows players to take a punt on neighbour bets and call bets – these two wouldn’t be found on a standard European roulette game. Neighbour bets: this bet includes five numbers. Choose a number on the table as your bet and the two numbers either side of that will become your four other numbers to make a bet of five. So, if you were to choose number 30 as your initial marker bet, 11 and 36 to the right and 8 and 23 to the left would become part of that bet. Call bets: there are four bets that make up this; Vosisins du zero (neighbours of zero) with nine chips, Tiers du cylinder – a bet on the twelve numbers that lay opposite the zero, Orphelis is the remaining orphaned numbers that aren’t covered in the previous bets and final bet; is a four chip bet placed on every number ending in the same number (5, 15, 25 and 35).

What’s the house edge?

You can expect to find a house edge of 2.70% which is standard with the majority of European Roulette versions.
