When you think of a classic roulette table, you tend to conjure images of hushed casino halls, guys in tuxedos, ladies in elegant dresses, and perhaps a cocktail or two. The last thing that might come to mind is the pantheon of the Ancient Greek gods. But that is exactly what you will find with Age of the Gods Roulette by Playtech software.

If you’re partial to online video slots, then you might well be familiar with the Age of the Gods slot machine series; the Isle of Man based game developer has been responsible for a number of Greek themed slots over the past year or so, such as King of Olympus, Goddess of Wisdom and Furious 4.

This time, however, the traditional table games are getting an epic mythological makeover with this online roulette game which offers some classic European roulette gameplay as well as a progressive jackpot for potential wins that are fit for the gods.

Not your average roulette game

As far as similarities to more traditional roulette games go, Ages of the Gods Roulette is quite unique, not only for its design but also for the fact that it has a progressive jackpot side game.

Essentially this Playtech roulette title is the software company’s replacement for their online Marvel Roulette game, which had to be withdrawn due to copyright issues after Disney bought the image rights to the comic book series. As such, the gameplay is more or less the same to the Marvel game, including the fact that there is a special bonus slot on the roulette wheel which opens the portal to a potential progressive jackpot prize.

The best way to play?

This online roulette table has a maximum theoretical return to player percentage (RTP) of 95.73% while the minimum RTP is 94.74. Each different bet on the board has the following odds:

  • Straight up: 35/1
  • Split: 17/1
  • Street: 11/1
  • Corner: 8/1
  • Dozen: 2/1
  • Column: 2/1
  • Low/high: even odds (1/1)
  • Red/black: even odds (1/1)
  • Even/odd: even odds (1/1)

Each veteran roulette player will have their own strategy on how to best beat the house. However, the thing you have to remember is that these classic casino games are always rigged to give the house a slight edge – this game has a set house edge of 2.7% thanks to the zero on the wheel.

That doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the game and potentially come out on the other side better off or, at the very least, with minimal losses. The best strategy for an online European Roulette game like this could to make use of the outside bets whilst spreading any straight up bets across the number board.

If you have a sizeable bankroll to play with then you could use a double-up strategy when betting on outside bets; whenever you lose, double the stake and place the same bet as before. One downside to this strategy is the £100 maximum bet limit.

Of course, playing this particular progressive roulette game online would be pointless if you didn’t at least place one chip on the “Age of Gods” bonus. If you trigger that bonus then you could win one of four progressive jackpots.

Mobile roulette action

If you’re after some mobile roulette action to keep you entertained on your lunch break, then this game is ideal. The Playtech software game is mobile compatible so you can enjoy Age of the Gods Roulette for iPads, iPhones, Android Phones and more.

US friendly?

It is not possible to play Age of Gods Roulette at US casinos. For non-US casinos, it can be played on Mansion Casino.

Fit for the gods?

This online roulette table by Playtech software makes a refreshing change to the same old roulette table game design. On top of that, the European Roulette style game is bestowed with a bit of extra winning potential thanks to its  progressive jackpot side game. If that doesn’t make it fit for a god then we don’t know what will!
