With roulette, one of the biggest disadvantages with this popular game is the house edge – this is where the casino can claw back plenty of cash thanks to the various house edges on offer.

Take American roulette, it has the highest house edge of all roulette varieties with a staggering 5.26%, European roulette has a lower house edge of 2.70% but when you include the La Partage rule – this drops to 1.35%.

But, there is a game that allows you to enjoy online roulette without any house edge at all – this is where No Zero Roulette comes in. It is the only roulette game in the world with equal odds during gameplay – must be a catch right? Read on to find out.

Playing to the rules

When you launch the game, you will be able to see a variety of betting options on the table. Use the following chip denominations to place your bets; 0.05, 0.01, 0.05, 1.00, 5.00, 10.00, 25.00, 50.00 and 100.00. Once you have placed your desired bets, you are in control of the game and decide when you want the game to play and how fast to play it. Click the spin button and the ball will start to spin around the wheel. When it comes to rest, you will be able to see a close-up view of the winning pocket and then a golden pawn will be placed onto the corresponding number on the betting table. All winning bets will be credited instantly and according to the paytable.

No zero – no difference

No Zero Roulette offers exactly what it says it does – no zero, despite this, No Zero Roulette is a European roulette game and plays to the same rules. The roulette wheel bears the numbers 1 through to and including 36 in the same pattern as you’d expect to find on a standard European roulette wheel – however, there is no zero to separate the black 26 and red 32. The betting table offers a variety of bets such as off/even, 1 to 18/19 to 36 and the racetrack. You can view the paytable at any stage as it is situated next to the roulette wheel. To the right of your screen is the history panel showing the outcomes of the wheel.

House edge and limits

There is no house edge with No Zero Roulette. Minimum bets are just 0.05 whilst maximum bets are 2,000 – quite substantial for a basic game of roulette, however, maximum limits for straight bets are 100.00.

Roulette strategies

High rollers can benefit from the maximum betting limit on straight bets to return some big cash. If your bankroll can take big losses, you’d do well to place a variety of straight bets to give your more chances to win big cash. Those with a smaller bankroll will need to place a series of smaller bets in the hope of boosting their balance allowing for longer gameplay.

Where to play

No Zero Roulette can be enjoyed over at Bet Voyager Casino. There is a demo version on offer allowing you to try before you buy.

Are US players allowed?

Unfortunately, No Zero Roulette is not available to residents of the US.

What we think

For a game of roulette that offers no house edge, we were very impressed, but the graphics were a slight disappointment. When you spin the wheel, the ball will jump in and out of the pockets and doesn’t resemble a real-life roulette wheel at all – it looks almost computer generated. The betting limits however are great and can make for some rather large returns.
